Snow peas are delicate peas with edible pods. They have a crisp, mild flavor that blends well with other flavors in vegetable medleys or stir-fries. Snow peas can be prepared a variety of ways, including steaming, stir-frying or boiling. Snow peas need to be boiled only for 30 seconds to 2 minutes, which is just enough to make them tender. Snow peas are a good source of vitamins A, C and K, as well as iron. A full cup of cooked snow peas contains only 67 calories.
