Made from brown rice, the pasta has a similar consistency and taste to white-flour pasta, yet it contains a greater amount of fiber and protein, which helps your body digest it at a slower rate. Whole grains also contain an ample amount of nutrients, which white-flour foods tend to lose during the milling process. Preparing brown-rice pasta is similar to cooking regular pasta and can be used in its place for almost any recipe.

Step 2
Pour 10-oz. — or one box — of brown-rice pasta into the boiling water.
Step 3
Add 1 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. oil to the water if you choose. The oil can help the pasta from sticking together. Alternately, stir the pasta while it is cooking to prevent it from sticking.
