Broiling a T-bone can have a similar cooking effect as grilling.
Broiling and grilling do not have many differences. In fact, an oven broiler is essentially a grill flipped upside down. Although you don't get the charcoal flavor that can be provided by some types of grills, broiling is a much easier method of cooking meat and can be done without any extra equipment. A T-bone steak is a popular cut of meat that can enjoy enhanced flavor when cooked on the bone. It features a beef tenderloin steak and a New York strip steak -- two of the highest-quality cuts of beef in one piece.

Step 2

Apply any seasonings to the beef, if necessary. You have a lot of options depending on what flavors you prefer, but salt, pepper, garlic and steak seasonings are all popular for use on a steak. You can also cook the steak on its own, if preferred.

Step 3

Place the steak on a broiling pan and set the pan in the oven.

Step 4

Cook the steak for four or five minutes, then flip and cook another four or five minutes. For thick steaks, add one or two minutes per side.

Step 5

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the meat. The USDA recommends cooking steak to 160 degrees F so that all food-borne illnesses are killed.

Step 6

Remove the steak from the oven and serve.
