While both are pig products, real Canadian bacon is nothing close to the Americanized “Canadian bacon.” In fact, real Canadian bacon resembles the American version of a slice off of the pork loin. However, American “Canadian bacon” is most commonly the processed, presliced meat product that is found in American grocery stores.

Step 1

Heat the oven at 325 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2

Coat the baking pan with cooking spray.

Step 3

Add Canadian bacon slices to the pan and lightly coat with cooking spray.

Step 4

Bake for approximately 10 minutes and remove from the oven.

Step 5

Flip each slice of Canadian bacon on the baking pan.

Step 6

Lightly spray the newly exposed side of Canadian bacon with cooking spray.

Step 7

Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the meat is browned.

Step 8

Remove from the oven and serve.
