According to the Incredible Egg, eggs contain 13 essential nutrients in varying amounts, including choline, vitamin D, riboflavin and protein. Egg yolks contain vitamins A and E and are one of the few foods that naturally contain vitamin D.

One large over-easy egg contains 77 calories – 24 which are fat – and 6 grams of protein. One large egg also has 213 milligrams of cholesterol, contained in the yolk. The Institute of Medicine recommends limiting your daily cholesterol intake to 300 milligrams. Egg whites contain no cholesterol or fat.

Condiments, cooking oil and food additions add calories to your over-easy egg. For example, using a low-fat cooking spray adds less than 5 calories; Frying that same egg in 1 teaspoon of oil adds 40 calories.
