Calories in Queso
Mexican cheese dip is a calorie-dense food, according to the nutritional breakdown in MyPlate, LIVESTRONG’s calorie tracker. The free app notes that just 2 tablespoons of Mexican cheese dip (or 28 grams) contains 50 to 110 calories. Although this may not seem like a lot on its own, 1 ounce of tortilla chips contains 142 calories, so the combination of the two can be high in calories.

Macronutrients
Like most dairy-based products, Mexican cheese dip is high in fat. A two-tablespoon serving can have up to 9 grams of fat, with 4 grams of saturated fat. The American Heart Association notes that saturated fat may increase your risk of cardiovascular disease, and suggests limiting intake to 16 grams per day or less. Mexican cheese dip does provides protein — 2 tablespoons contain 4 grams of protein. Protein is an essential nutrient because it is present in every cell of your body. Mexican cheese dip is low in carbohydrates, with just 1 gram per 2 tablespoons. This may make it appropriate for a low-carbohydrate diet.
