Metrorrhagia
Metrorrhagia is uterine bleeding that occurs outside normal intervals of your menstrual cycle. This bleeding may be a sign of an underlying disorder, such as hormone imbalance, endometriosis, uterine fibroids or cancer of the uterus. Bleeding can be heavy in the form of clots or it can be scant.

Hormonal Imbalance
Hormonal imbalance can occur during and after strenuous exercising. The part of the brain that regulates ovulation can cause abnormal levels of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). This imbalance can then result in abnormal progesterone and estrogen levels, making you susceptible to irregular periods and abnormal bleeding.

Exercise and Stress
If you participate in sports that require rigorous training and exercise, you may find that you spot or bleed heavily after exercising. This can happen during you regular cycle, as well as during times when your cycle is not expected to occur. Several factors combine to contribute to this irregularity in women such as strenuous exercise, low body fat, stress and high energy expenditure.

Conclusion
Strenuous exercise can cause abnormal uterine bleeding. If this is the only likely cause, then you should cut back on the duration and intensity of your work out regimen. Less stress will allow your hormones to regulate properly and stop the bleeding from occurring.
